What you will learn

In this course, you will develop Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing Skills. To achieve the full ESOL Level 2 qualification, you must pass Speaking and Listening Level 2, Reading Level 2 and Writing Level 2. At the end of Term 1, you will take the Level 2 Speaking and Listening exam.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Work towards presenting information in a logical sequence
  • Work towards using prompts to move a discussion forward

Class format and activities

You will work in pairs or small groups or individually. You will also have one-to-one discussions with your tutor to talk about your progress. You will experience a wide and varied range of activities such as listening to audios, role play, reading aloud, writing activities, quizzes, word searches and other games. You will also use digital learning technologies to help you learn.

Entry requirements

You will take an initial assessment, which will determine your current level of English. You may join this course, if your assessed level is just below the standards at Level 2.

What you need to know before you enrol

Course fees: Variable rates are available. You may be able to do the course for FREE depending on your personal circumstances. Guided Learning Hours: 72 Half term: 24th to 28th October 2022 Class time : 6 hours per week Independent study: A minimum of 4 hours per week, including regular practice of what you learn in class and completing any homework. Attendance and Punctuality: Making good progress on the course will depend on regular attendance and punctuality. A minimum of 90% attendance is required from students at Morley College.

You will need writing materials (a pen, some lined paper) and a file to keep your work in. You may also need to buy a course book.
