What you will learn

This course is for students who completed Minna no Nihongo Book 1 and want to revise the grammar points and practice more speaking skills. You can build your confidence in Japanese grammar and speaking skills.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • speak in real life situations such as buying tickets, getting directions and booking a hotel etc.
  • use particles and counters correctly
  • construct longer sentences
  • practice JLPT N4 level Kanji

    The course will be delivered using spoken and written forms, and other tools including powerpoint slides and interactive presentation. The teacher also uses colleges online learning platform Microsoft Teams. During the lesson students will interact using group or pair work, quizzes, games etc. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above. At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals

    Entry requirements

    You should have completed the grammar points of Minna no Nihongo Book 1. You should read and write approx. 200 Kanji. You should also be able to listen to and understand slow speed conversations encountered in daily life.

    Excellent attendance and punctuality is required from all students. This course requires study/completion of activities outside of class. You will be expected to access online resource to do your weekly homework.
