Music Producer Peter Jenner Meets With Morley Music Students
We were delighted to be joined by music producer Peter Jenner last week, as he visited Morley to meet with our Advanced Learning and Higher Education music students.
Peter’s career in the music industry spans over 50 years. While he has worked extensively with a wide range of musical artists from T-Rex and The Clash to Ian Dury and Billy Bragg, he is also known for having discovered and then managed the up-and-coming Pink Floyd. Drawing upon his experience, he presented a talk to our students covering everything from getting a record deal and the skills needed to be a manager, to the processes behind the launch of the groundbreaking free concerts in Hyde Park, which included a show by the Rolling Stones in 1969.
We’re also looking forward to welcoming Peter back to the College next term, when he will give a talk on another key aspect of his work, copyright in the music industry, as well as listening to songwriting demos by our students.
Morley College London offers a Level 3 Diploma in Music Production, HNC and HND courses in Music Performance or Production, and a BA (Hons) top-up degree year in Music. Visit our course pages for more information, or pay us a visit at our next Higher Education and Advanced Learning Open Day on Wednesday 29 January 2020 to meet our staff and tour our facilities.
