It has long been a feature of our Western society, that older people, are disproportionately affected by mental health, isolation, ill health, lack of support, and access to resources that may improve their lives.
This Penny Lecture will have two components including a lecture and a workshop.
10:00 – 11:00 Penny Lecture Eli Anderson: In this short lecture, Eli Anderson will briefly look at how storytelling can be an essential aid to a more healthier life.
11:30 – 16:00 Workshop Eli Anderson: The workshop will be an opportunity to delve deeper into Storytelling. Learning about it as an art-form and as a resource for well-being and connection.
Speaker Biography – Eli Anderson: is an International storytelling expert. His storytelling concepts and theories, have directly affected the delivery of healthcare and education curriculum practice, indigenous storytelling methodology in Europe, US and the UK. His writing includes children’s books, film, stage work, and academic papers. He is currently engaged in the delivery of three courses in (introductory, intermediate and professional) storytelling at Morley College.
