Your chance to become an Artist of Morley 2024…
Next week we’ll launch our Artists of Morley campaign for 2024, bringing together the amazing end-of-year shows and activities that our visual arts students lay on for us every summer.
If you’re a current Morley student, or a recent alumni, we’re inviting you to be part of the fun: read on for a chance to shine and share your artistic talents with the vibrant Stockwell community.
As part of the highly anticipated Artists of Morley 2024 celebration this June and July, we are thrilled to announce an open competition for visual and digital artists.
This competition offers a unique opportunity to showcase your work at Morley’s Stockwell Centre, a foundation of our community learning programme.
Conveniently located next to Stockwell Tube Station, the Centre is launching its innovative Green Hub – an eco-friendly teaching, work, and meeting space – on Thursday 4 July.
As part of the launch, the Green Hub will feature a special exhibition of selected artworks that resonate with the themes of sustainability, community, and friendship.
Why you should take part
This long-term installation will run from July 2024 to March 2025, providing a platform for your art to be viewed by students and the wider Stockwell community.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure, connect with fellow artists, and contribute to the newly refurbished Stockwell Centre’s vibrant atmosphere.
“A vibrant addition to the Stockwell Centre, this first in a series of small exhibitions highlighting the best work of Morley’s visual art students augments the new Green Hub, celebrating the Stockwell Centre as a place which brings lifelong learning in visual arts into the heart of the Stockwell community,” said Jack Davy, Gallery Manager and Exhibitions Curator.
