Audition Club is aimed at those who want to practice and hone their audition technique or skills. It is suitable for professional actors wanting to practice for auditions in theatre and film, as well as students who want to apply for drama school. You will work with experienced tutor Chloe Stephens on short pieces of text, developing both site reading, monologue and partner work skills. The course is a supportive environment where you can learn from and support each other with everything around auditions, including managing nerves and wellbeing. You will learn specific techniques to help you prepare such as looking at the text, developing your physicality and imagination. It’s useful if you can bring material to work with (ideally something you know without using the script) but we will also explore sight reading and there will be texts available for you. Chloe has worked in Casting at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and the National Theatre, as well as sitting on audition panels at Rose Bruford, ALRA and Central School of Speech and Drama.
