What you will learn
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Control the pitch and quality of your voice better
- Increase your vocal range and agility and improve your sense of rhythm
- Listen to and blend with other voices, following a conductor and maintaining your own part
- Demonstrate confidence singing with or without accompaniment
- Identify and describe key features of the jazz idiom

Class format and activities
Physical and vocal exercises to improve breath control and engage support muscles and to release tensions. Singing exercises such as ascending and descending scales and arpeggios at a range of speeds and using a range of vowel sounds.
Entry requirements
An appreciation and love of jazz and enthusiasm in singing in group. The ability to sing in tune and in time.
What you need to know before you enrol
Excellent attendance and punctuality is required from all students. This course requires regular practice (including listening) outside of class time.
What you need
Checking class online platform regularly to always be updated about the contents of the lessons and follow any instruction. Occasionally you will need to print your charts and lyrics.
