Can you play a pop instrument but have not yet taken your first steps towards forming a band? Don’t just play on your own with backing tracks - come and learn how to develop as a band player in a safe and friendly environment. Learn effective techniques to rehearse a set of songs which you will then perform in a gig as part of a band.
• Listen to tutor presentation, explanation and presentation• Guided analytical listening and group discussion• Work in a dynamic, creative and supportive environment• Learn to plan evaluate songs in lead sheet form• Use recordings from workshops to improve group rehearsal and individual practice techniques• With the aid of the tutor, explore the stylistic boundaries of a chosen genre
• An open mind when asked to explore different styles within a specific genre• At least 3 years of playing the desired instrument
The Late session is the second of two classes and it may be necessary to attend the earlier time slot in order to join a band This is the second term of the course, places might be limited. Contact matti.gardner@staging.morleycollege.ac.uk for more info
