What you will learn

These Advanced Printmaking (Friday-all day) Courses at Morley College London at the Chelsea Centre will provide an opportunity for experienced printmakers to further their exploration of the diverse processes and techniques offered in intaglio printmaking. Working within a studio provides a unique dynamic which encourages group discussions, collaboration and cross pollination of ideas and approaches, and can be a great way for artists to embrace their practice both technically and conceptually.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • You will work in the well-equipped studio with specialist facilities to further develop your ideas and imagery into a portfolio of prints.
  • Explore your own creative practice using printmaking.

Class format and activities

Specially tailored technical demonstrations and workshops will encourage further exploration of the diverse creative potential of printmaking. In addition, you will be supported through individual tutorials and group critiques which are aimed at encouraging a useful reflective practice. To ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course you will have regular feedback from your tutor.

Entry requirements

Experience working in an etching/printmaking workshop.

What you need to know before you enrol

The Printmaking Studio is at the Morley College London Chelsea Centre, Hortensia Road SW10 0QS, just off the Kings Road and Fulham Road, in the Carlyle building, room CG05 on the ground floor.

What you need

You need to bring: some art equipment such as pencils, eraser, stanley/craft knife, washing up gloves and apron. There is a studio fee of £30.00 payable to the tutor which covers basic materials, except paper and plates which you pay extra for as you use them. All materials are available to buy in the studio.
