The aim of Arabic Beginners 1 is to provide students with a basic knowledge of ‘standard’ Arabic. This fun interactive course will introduce you to the Arabic. You will learn essential vocabulary and the most frequent and useful phrases.

What you will learn
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Use basic greetings and courtesies e.g. Good morning, Excuse me, Yes/No, Thanks
- Use basic vocabulary e.g. family member, jobs
- Ask and reply to very simple questions about yourself e.g. Where do you come from?, Do you speak ...?
- Describe things, consider the gender of the objects
Cost
Class format and activities
In class, students are encouraged to interact with each other using Arabic, practising the vocabulary and structures learnt in pairs or in small groups. Outside of the class, students are encouraged to revise what has been taught, so that progress may be made. The written activities will be mostly set as homework.
Entry requirements
This course is suitable for complete beginners or those wishing to refresh their knowledge of the basics. (Level A1)
What you need to know before you enrol
Excellent attendance and punctuality are required from all students. Regular work is given to be done at home to support and consolidate your learning. You should therefore dedicate about 2 hours as a self-study on a weekly basis.
