What you will learn
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Workshop health and safety and guidance on pottery tools.
- Learn how to design sculptural vessels with initial sketching and translate these into 3D objects
- Learn hand building techniques
- How to decorate your vessels, with a focus on texture and surface.

Demonstration, Q&A and guidance by tutor both individual and group these are practical hands-on sessions to develop your understanding of clay.

To get the most out of this course you would need some previous knowledge of clay techniques
What you need to know before you enrol
Excellent attendance and punctuality are required from all students, you need to be able to join all five sessions to get the most out of this course. We make a per kilo charge for clay, which includes the bisque and glaze firing. These classes will be taught in the C22 ceramic studio.
What you need
Pen and notebook, clothes you do not mind getting dirty, closed toe shoes. Please bring any clay tools you have, however, there will be pottery tools available to use on the course, there are also beginners packs to buy at the college if you would like your own
