This course is for you:if you want to continue studying after completing ESOL Entry 2If you want to build your confidence in using everyday EnglishIf you want to develop your reading, writing and study skills and build your vocabularyIn this course, you will develop speaking and listening, reading and writing skills. Each term includes all four skills but focuses on a specific skill for the exam taken in that term. When you pass each skill you will receive a certificate for that particular skill.To achieve the full ESOL Entry Level 3 qualification, you must pass Speaking and Listening Entry Level 3, Reading Entry Level 3 and Writing Entry Level 3.
On successful completion of the course, you will achieve the following qualification: Award in ESOL Skills for Life (Writing) (Entry 3) [CG]
These are in-centre classroom based lessons. Some lessons may be delivered online. Any online classes will take place either on MsTeams or Google Meet. You will work in pairs, small groups or individually. You will also have a one-to-one discussion with your tutor to talk about your progress. You will experience a wide and varied range of activities such as listening to audios, role play, reading aloud, writing activities, quizzes, word searches and other games. You will also use YouTube, an interactive whiteboard and computers to help you learn. Everything that you learn will help you in your daily life and work. You will have an individual learning plan with targets that are personal to you. Assessment methods: At the end of each term, you may take City & Guilds exams for the unit you are studying. If you pass an exam, you will receive a certificate from City and Guilds.
• You will take an initial assessment which will determine your current level of English. • Or if you have passed ESOL Entry level 2, you may enrol onto this course.
Term 1 – Speaking and Listening Term 2 – Reading Term 3 – Writing What each term requires: • attending 2 classes of 3 hours per week • completion of homework • a minimum of 90% attendance per term
• a pen, some lined paper and a file to keep your work in • an Internet connection to access online lessons • a computer with microphone and camera, a tablet or smart phone • headphones
