Get Better at ESOL Skills Entry 2 Speaking and Listening – Waterloo

Times and days: Variable days and times are available. You will work in pairs or small groups or individually. You will also have one-to-one discussions with your tutor to talk about your progress. You will experience a wide and varied range of activities such as listening to audios, role play, reading aloud, writing activities, quizzes, word searches and other games. You will also use YouTube, an interactive whiteboard and computers to help you learn. Everything that you learn will help you in your daily life. You will have an individual learning plan with targets that are personal to you. Assessment methods: At the end of each term, you will take City & Guilds exams for the unit you are studying. Exams will be internally assessed and marked. If you pass an exams, you will receive a certificate from City and Guilds for that particular exam. You may be given an opportunity to retake your exam if you are unsuccessful.

Course fees: Variable rates are available. You may be able to do the course for FREE depending on your personal circumstances. Guided Learning Hours: 72 Class time : 6 hours per week Independent study: A minimum of 4 hours per week, including regular practice of what you learn in class and completing any homework. Attendance and Punctuality: Making good progress on the course will depend on regular attendance and punctuality. A minimum of 90% attendance is required from students at Morley College.

You will need writing materials (a pen, some lined paper) and a file to keep your work in. You may also need to buy a course book.

After completion of this course there are several courses you could progress onto. Your tutor will advise you on your next step.
