This short intensive course will introduce you to the process of plaster mould making and slip casting techniques. You will make your own one-part or multi-part plaster mould and learn to slip-cast using them. We will cover both functional and sculptural applications of slip casting. You will pick up your pieces later after being bisque firing

The course will be delivered with demonstrations, group and one-to-one discussions and set tasks. Students will have the opportunity to discuss their personal goals with the tutor and will receive regular feedback and guidance throughout the course.
Entry requirements
This course is suitable for beginners or those with some experience in ceramics who are interested in learning a new technique.
What you need to know before you enrol
There is physical activity involved, for example filling and emptying moulds, mixing plaster, which requires some physical fitness. Please inform your tutor if assistance is required.
What you need
Working with plaster can be messy, please dress appropriately and bring an apron. You may also wish to take notes during the class or record your project progress in a sketchbook. A respirator or mask FFP3 (can be purchased for £5 from your tutor). Please bring in 3-4 plastic containers to make your mould from.
