- Complete at least one macramé bracelet, using beads and knots
- Understand how to use different threads and cords
- Attach beads and findings to your decorative knotting

Class format and activities
After looking at and discussing examples and samples, the tutor will demonstrate techniques required to create a shamballa style bracelet with a knotted sliding clasp. You will then produce a practice piece of jewellery using the materials provided to become familiar with the techniques., In the afternoon you will continue to practice with your own designs and work through any problems and questions with help from the tutor., There will be an emphasis on sharing knowledge and experience, through discussion, show and tell and group crit. The tutor will facilitate group discussions and work with the students one-to-one and in groups.
Entry requirements
No previous experience of jewellery making is necessary. Enthusiasm is an asset!.
What you need to know before you enrol
This is a practical course and will require hand skills for working with wire, beads and pliers.
What you need
The college provides all of the tools and basic materials for this class. However you may want to bring:,•Any loose beads or collections of drilled stones and beads that you may have to use in, your own design.,• a notebook, a pen, and a fabric tape measure.,• If you have a ‘bead board’ do bring it with you
