Have you ever wanted to learn how to record music from home? Are you a musician looking to develop your recording and production skills? This introductory course will establish the core skills and knowledge needed to create audio recordings, whether from a studio or from home. You will learn how to use the various equipment involved and understand the process of recording in a fun, friendly environment.

  • Choose the right microphone for the job
  • Understand stereo microphone techniques
  • Understand dynamic processors, EQ and FX
  • Record a range of instruments

    Entry requirements

    The ability to play an instrument is desirable but not essential.

    What you need to know before you enrol

    Some sessions may require the handing and lifting of audio equipment such as microphone stands, cables. Advice on safe handling of equipment will be given at the beginning of the course. Due to the nature of the instruments/content of the course you might be exposed to high volume levels. We strongly encourage everyone to bring a pair of ear plugs to every lesson.
