This course explores four distinct periods or eras: Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and Fin de Siecle Vienna German Expressionism - Die Brucke and Der Blaue Reiter Art in the Weimar Period The Fate of Art in the Nazi Era

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Gain a basic framework for the development of Modern Art in Germany and Austria
  • Identify the methods and interests of individual artists such as Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele
  • Examine the relationships between artists and the period of history that defined them
  • Gain confidence in asking questions and taking part in group discussion

You will learn through power point presentations, videos, student research, group activities discussions and debates. Some homework will set to share in class. To ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular and detailed feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment
