What you will learn

This course is for you:if you want to learn about life in the UKif you want to improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening in English to help you in your everyday life and work. In this course, you will develop speaking and listening, reading and writing skills. Each term includes all four skills but focuses on a specific skill for the exam taken at the end of that term. When you pass each skill, you will receive a certificate for that particular skill.To achieve the full ESOL Entry Level 1 City and Guild's qualification, you must pass Speaking and Listening Entry Level 1, Reading Entry Level 1 and Writing Entry Level 1.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Learn how to introduce yourself and ask questions
  • Work towards expressing own ideas when speaking

Class format and activities

The course consists of twice-per-week in-person classes. You will participate in pair and group work in activities such as role-play, games, Q&As, conversation and writing practice.

Entry requirements

Students must have knowledge of the English alphabet and be able to answer simple and personal questions and write simple sentences. If students need support in these areas, we may suggest that you complete Stppeing up to Entry 1 course before Entry Level 1.

What you need to know before you enrol

Attend or contact North Kensington centre to make an appointment for Advice and Guidance to confirm this course is the right one for you. You should also be prepared to commit 3 hours per week to indenpedent study in order to pass this course.

What you need

A notebook, folder, pen, pencil and highlighters. Excellent attendance and puntuality.
