What you will learn
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Play with confidence a range of up to two octaves
- Improve your co-ordination of fingering, tonguing and breathing
- Play with some musical phrasing and expression in a variety of musical styles
- Read music notation with some fluency
- Play two different sizes of recorder
- Play with some confidence alone and with others

Entry requirements
This course is suitable for those with at least a year’s experience of playing recorder.
What you need to know before you enrol
You will need to be willing and able to do short, regular practice sessions between classes: at least 15-20 minutes, at least 4 times a week. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes. At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals. Excellent attendance and punctuality is required from all students. This course requires study/completion of activities outside of class time.
What you need
Your recorders, pencil and eraser, notebook. Other materials will be supplied by the tutor. You may wish to bring a device to record parts of the lesson.
