Designed to build essential performance skills and techniques in the pop and rock idiom, this course is the natural continuation for students with 2 or 3 years’ experience on their instruments.
• Listen to tutor presentation, explanation and presentation• Guided analytical listening and group discussion• Work in a dynamic, creative and supportive environment• Learn to plan evaluate songs in lead sheet form• Use recordings from workshops to improve group rehearsal and individual practice techniques• With the aid of the tutor, explore the stylistic boundaries of a chosen genre
• An open mind when asked to explore different styles within a specific genre• At least 3 years of playing the desired instrument
