What you will learn
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Introduce yourself -name, nationality, basic greetings, job, phone number, social media, family, etc.-
- Learn the alphabet and basic pronunciation rules
- Ask and reply to very simple questions about yourself e.g. Where do you come from?, What languages do you speak?
- Make a very simple request, ask for clarification
- Get the gist of basic conversations

Class format and activities
Practising speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Learning through practical activities (individual tasks, role-plays, pair and small group work, games). Writing basic single words and short sentences, e.g. gap-filling, grammar exercises. Listening for the gist or basic information. Revising on topics (e.g. vocabulary) and grammar points. All this will be supported by a learning platform available for extra practice, dowloading materials before the lessons and submitting HW. Achievement on your course will be measured by whether you meet the learning outcomes above. At the start of the course you will have an opportunity to discuss these with your tutor and set your own personal targets, linked to the learning outcomes and future goals.
Entry requirements
This course is aimed at complete beginners. Good attendance and punctuality is required from all students. This course requires study/completion of activities outside of class time , from 1 hour to 2.
