What you will learn
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Identify different types of text and their purpose
- Understand how different language devices have an impact on readers
- identify persuasive language techniques in texts and use them in your own writing
- Prepare and deliver a short talk on a subject of your own choice
Class format and activities
Students work in pairs, groups and independently. There is a lot of focus on discussion and on improving writing skills. We use real-world texts and past papers to help students improve their English for work and assessment.
Entry requirements
Most students will have progressed from the two-week induction; otherwise, admission to the course is through interview and a reading and writing task.
