Tuesday 14 May: Jewellery
10:00 – 12:00pm ‘Strike a Mark! Patterns and Textures for Jewellery using Punches and Hammers (with Jenny MacDonald): Strike a Mark! – Patterns and textures for jewellery using punches and hammers. This taster workshops will introduce you to the jewellery studio and the fundamentals of metal. Try out a range of specialist tools including punches and hammers and create personalised motifs, write your name or short messages onto metal. A fun session suitable for anyone with a curiosity for jewellery or wishing to find out more about our courses.
13:00 – 15:00 Spirals and Twists: Jewellery with Wire (with Rebecca Illet): This taster workshop will introduce you to the jewellery studio and the fundamentals of metal in the jewellery studio at Morley College North Kensington. Make earrings with ear cuffs and rings with twisted and spiralled wire in silver, copper and brass.
Wednesday 15 May: Ceramics
13:00 – 16:00 Texture, slab and slip ceramics (with Danielle Bunker): Join us at our Ceramic Studio and make your own creation in clay. Enjoy a few hours of playful experimentation, pressing a variety of objects into clay slabs for texture, stretching and tearing clay, decorating and joining with slips, and finally making two or three clay pieces. Your design will then go through the firing process and be ready for you to collect in about a month’s time.
Thursday 16 May: Ceramics
16:00 – 18:00 Handbuilding For All – Ceramics Taster (with Yuki Nakamura): Join us in the Ceramic Studio and make your own creation in clay. Whether you want to make something fun and functional like a mug or bowl, or let your imagination run free and create a purely decorative piece to brighten up your space, you’ll be guided through each step of the process by Yuki Nakamura, an experienced professional ceramic artist. Not to worry if this is your first time working with clay, as you’ll have all the help and support you need to finish the class with a beautiful handmade piece of pottery you can be proud of. Your design will then go through the firing process and be ready for you to collect in about a month’s time.
Thursday 16 May: Glass Working
16:00 – 19:00 Glass Fusing Taster (with Anna Chrysopoulo) Come and enjoy a Fusing Taster session, perfect for anyone who’s ever wanted to try their hand working with glass! Explore glass as a raw material in its varying forms including sheet and frit; learn the fundamentals of glass cutting and simple assembly to create small-scale fused glass pieces. This taster provides a unique opportunity to experiment with a range of specialist materials and is the perfect introduction to the art of Fusing Glass. We encourage you to come along and have a go!
Saturday 18 May: Glass Working

13:00 – 16:00 Friends, Family and Couples Ceramics Taster (with Yuki Nakamura) Join us at our Ceramic Studio and make your own creation in clay. These fun and relaxing workshops will be guided by Yuki Nakamura, an experienced professional ceramic artist. The Family, Friends, and Couples Ceramic Workshop offers a unique and engaging experience for people to come together and explore exciting ceramics. Thhis workshop emphasizes a supportive and inclusive environment, where creativity is nurtured, and individual expression is celebrated. This workshop is for everyone and caters for a variety of skill levels, ages, and techniques. During this course, you will explore various hand-building methods, work with glazing and surface decoration, and collaborate as a family under the guidance of experienced instructors. Your creation will be glazed and fired by our studio and ready for collection in 3 – 4 weeks.
